Published in the Patriot-News on 7/28/2005 Harrisburg PA Gerald C. "Jerry" Kishbach, 77, of Enola, passed into eternal rest at Holy Spirit Hospital after battling cancer for 5 1/2 years. He was born August 1, 1927 in West Hazleton, son of the late Harrison and Gertrude (Roth) Kishbach, and was also preceded in death by his brother, Harrison, who was killed during the Battle of the Bulge of World War II. Jerry retired after 31 years as a Computer Supervisor for the Bureau of Employment Security for the Department of Labor and Industry, had been a Weighmaster for the Lehigh Valley Coal Company and, more recently, had worked for Fox's Markets, Union Deposit Road. He was a member of Colonial Park United Methodist Church and its choir, was a member of the church's Stewards Sunday School Class and the AARP Sentimentalists. He has enjoyed singing with the Capital Keystone Chorus Barbershop Quartet since 1987, was a member of the Enola American Legion, bowled in several local leagues, and was a former member of the Camp Curtin Memorial United Methodist Church. Above all, he loved spending time with his wife, family, friends and pets. He was an Army Veteran of World War II, serving in the Strategic Service Unit. Surviving are his beloved wife of almost 54 years, Doris J. (Oswald) Kishbach; 2 sons, Gerald (Jerry) H. (and his wife, Frances) Kishbach of Carlisle, and Jeffrey A. Kishbach of Harrisburg; one daughter, Karen L. (and her husband, Andrew) Weiss of Summerdale; and his granddaughter, Gloria Holt of Carlisle. Services will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, July 30, 2005 in his church, 430 Colonial Road, Harrisburg, with the Rev. Paul A. Lauchle officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Viewing will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 noon on Saturday at the church.
