END From the Sullivan County Democrat, Callicoon, New York dated May 22, 1992: BEGIN Leonard H. Soules, 68 Whether he was building a house, rewiring a circuit, laying linoleum, golfing or taking a picture, Leonard H. Soules was a perfectionist. He was a jack of all trades and master of many, and a man who had a craving for knowledge about how every machine and tool he used worked. A self-employed carpet installer and upholster, Leonard learned his craft through a correspondent's course. But the work he did on people's furniture looked more like it came from a factory, as Leonard made sure every detail of his work met with his approval. Leonard was also an accomplished photographer, photographing many weddings and also many portraits for the Youngsville Fire Department. One of his most prized photos, of a church taken at night, graced the cover of Catskill-Delaware magazine. The photo was taken over a period of several hours and showed the movement of the stars in the sky. He always tried to enjoy himself at work or while relaxing and his hearty laugh was his trademark. On Tuesday, May 19, 1992, Leonard died at home in Youngsville at the age of 68 following a bout with cancer. The son of the late Howard and Edna Bilyou Soules, he was born January 13, 1924, in Liberty. He was a member of St. Francis Church in Youngsville; a member of the Benevolent Protective Order of Elks, and a member of the Clarence Hoyt Post No. 9217, Veterans of Foreign Wars, both in Liberty. Mr. Soules was an Army veteran of World War II and an honorary member of the Youngsville Fire Department. He is survived by his wife, Susanne Wagner Soules, at home; two brothers, H. K. "Hockey" Soules of Liberty, and Earle Soules of Liberty and Sarasota, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Francis Church in Youngsville with the Rev. Edward Greene officiating. Burial will be made in St. Mary's Cemetery in Obernburg. Funeral arrangements were made by the Stewart Funeral Home in Jeffersonville. END
