From the Sullivan Co Democrat, Callicoon, New York in July of 1930: BEGIN The Low Pond property, near Callicoon Center, owned lately by Fred Beyer and sold at partition sale on May 31, was bought by the Callicoon center Realty Co., composed of Fred Hessinger, Winfield Hessinger, Joseph Huff, George Bohl and Harry Schuyler. The company has already started alterations on the house and will have it for rent very shortly. The new name is Lake Anawanda. The beach has all been cleaned up and a store for refreshments and bath houses are being built by contractor Ernest Leinhass. Harry Hahn will be there seven days a week to take care of boats, etc. END From the Sullivan County Democrat, Callicoon, New York in April of 1942: BEGIN Miss Harriet Hahn, who is employed as an official guide by Remington Arms Co., Bridgeport, Conn., wired her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Hahn, Saturday evening that she was O.K. and not hurt by the terrific explosion which occurred in the packing house of the plant Saturday afternoon. She was in another building at the time. Paul Herman and several other men employed at Remington Arms were not working at the time of the explosion. They were, however, able to spend several unexpected vacation days at their local homes because the explosion disrupted their work.
