Times Leader Wilkes-Barre, PA Saturday, February 03, 1996 BEGIN Alva Kille Feb. 1, 1996 Alva Kille, 90, of RR1 Benton, Raven Creek, died Thursday at the Bloomsburg Hospital Born Oct. 12, 1905, in Lopez, Sullivan County, he was the son of the late Thomas and Minnie VanHorn Kille. He attended Ricketts and Lopez schools and had lived in Raven Creek since 1945. He had been employed by the Benton Foundry as a molder for 30 years before retiring in the early 1970s. Previously, he worked for the Lehigh Valley Railroad and later for the Berwick American Car and Foundry Corp. He was an avid sportsman and enjoyed trout fishing in Columbia and Sullivan counties. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Margaret A. Casselberry, on June 30, 1992; brothers, Lewis, Noel, Lee and Charles Kille, and a sister, Helen Kille; a son, Thomas C. Kille, on Jan. 23, 1983; a grandson, Steve B. Kocher, on April 12, 1995; a granddaughter, Deborah J. Kille, on Feb. 25, 1994. Surviving are his children, Mrs. Walter (Helen) Kropiewnicki, Jack D. Kille and Shirley A. Kocher, all of RR1 Benton; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday from the McMichael Funeral Home, RR2 Benton, with the Rev. Ron Walker, pastor of the Bible Baptist Church of Benton, officiating. Interment will be in the Hamline Cemetery. Friends may call from 1 p.m. until service time Monday.
