Gives Up Bus Franchise!

  At the request of the bus operator himself, the Public Service Commission
revoked the certificate granted June 12, 1924, to Charles A. Deckelman
for operation of a bus route between the hamlet of Obernburg and the Erie
Railroad Station in the village of Hankins.  The petitioner said he had
never operated the line and had no intention of operating one now!

"Mr & Mrs Charles Deckelman of Obernburg announce the engagement of their
daughter, Teresa Mary to William Schanil, son of Mr & Mrs Edward Schamil
of Bronx, NY. Miss Deckelman is a graduate of the Delaware Valley Central
School, class of 1954 and is employed by the New york Telephone Company. Mr
Schanil is presently employed by A J Lipp Lithographing company in NYC."

"Charles A Deckelman, 80, a native and lifelong resident of Obernburg,
died suddenly last Friday morning, September 19 1958. He had not been
ill previously.  He was born at Obernburg on July 15 1898, the son of John
Deckelman and Theresa Gerst. On October 25 1922 he was united in marriage with
Florence Huff at St. Mary's Church, Obernburg.  Survivors include his wife
and 3 children - Gerard of Fremont Center, Mrs Doris D'Ambra of Greenville
RI and Miss Teresa at home, 3 brothers -b Anthony and Frank of Obernburg,
William of Jeffersonville; 3 sisters - Mrs Elizabeth Yurescko of Rockaway
NJ, Mrs Hilda Grishaber and Mrs Theresa Gute both of Jeffersonville, 4
grandchildren nieces and nephews.  Funeral services were held at St. Mary's
Church, Obernburg on Monday at 10 a. m. Rev Fr Vigil OFM officiated and
intement was made in St. Mary's Cemetery by Undertaker Steffens."
