From the Sullivan County Democrat, Callicoon, New York dated August 18, 1920:

BEGIN

  Fred Kille of Obernburg was bringing an auto load of people to the
Callicoon Station when a large butternut tree in front of John Werlau's
residence just above Hortonville crashed to the earth.  Some of the large
limbs struck the hood and smashed it.

The previous occurred during the August 15, 1920 cloudburst and flood that
caused much damage to the area.

homestead from Mr. Kille's father - Jacob - conducting it as a hotel and
boarding house.  Leaves husband - Fred; 1 daughter - Mrs Charles Wagner of
Middletown, NY; 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren."
