The Daily Journal, Vineland NJ Thursday April 8 & 9, 2010 Charles 'Al' Kille, 81 President, CEO of Tech Glass Inc. Charles 'Al' Kille, 81, of Vineland passed away Monday afternoon, April 5, 2010, at South Jersey Healthcare Regional Medical Center of Vineland. Al was born and raised in Newfield and was a longtime Vineland city resident. He was the son of the late Charles and Beatrice (Beckett) Kille. He was predeceased by his sisters, Jeanette Kille Bishop and Marian Kille Luisi. Al worked in the glass industry for most of his life. In 1969, Al, Rex Gary and Bob Walsh started Glastron Inc. Until his death, he served as president and CEO of Tech Glass Inc. Al loved his work at Glastron and Tech Glass. He considered his employees as extended family. He was a member of the North Italy Beneficial Association and was a former Jaycee. He loved sports, from basketball, baseball, football, golf and tennis to bowling. He received a football scholarship to Temple University, from which he graduated with his degree. At the time, he held the record for the longest punt. Al also was a U.S. Army veteran, who served as a military policeman. He was a loving husband, and enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren of whom he was very proud. In addition, one of his favorite pastimes was having lunch and chatting with his dear friends. He is survived by his wife, Loretta (Sokowski); two daughters, Lisa (Tom) Ruggieri and Tina Kille; two grandchildren, Dominick and Kristen Ruggieri; as well as several nieces and nephews; two stepchildren, Terri (Chris) Dompert and Mark Stein; and three stepgrandchildren, Ayla, Christopher and Jana Dompert. A memorial funeral service will be conducted at 2p.m. Monday at Newfield United Methodist Church, Columbia and Elmo avenues, Newfield, where relatives and friends will be received from 1 to 2p.m. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in Newfield.
