Transcript and translation attached. Latin in England in this timeframe was
highly abbreviated, hence all the bracketed parts of words. I personally
don't think it's as compelling as we might have liked because the alias is
very clearly a place alias rather than a surname alias. Brooke noted that
place aliases were unusual. It doesn't rule out a corresponding surname alias
but the document itself doesn't show the existence of such a surname alias.

The farm in the document is in Holsworthy so it's referring to a different
farm than Eastlake in Bratton Clovelly. Long ago, when we were trying to find
'our' Eastlake farm, we first went to a farm near Chilla in Holsworthy near
to Bratton but definitely a different location. The farms there were lovely
and called East Lake Farm and West Lake Farm (we got a nice little tour by
the owner). Perhaps this was the farm that the document refers to. It wasn't
far from 'our' Eastlake Farm though and the owner of the farm in Chilla
was able to point us to the like-named farm in Bratton Clovelly. Anyway,
it might be worth looking for some early deeds regarding the Eastlake
(Estlake) and Westlake Farms near Chilla.
