The meeting entered into business and ordered Joseph RISLEY, Esq., to the Chair, and, Daniel B. SMITH, Secretary. Resolved that Daniel LAKE, John LAKE, Elijah ADAMS, Daniel BAKER, Thomas GARWOOD, John DOUGHTY, Robert RISLEY, John R. SCULL, Mathew COLLINS, Robert LEEDS and Joseph ENDICOTT, esquires, be a committee to draft resolutions for said meeting. The committee proceeded to business, and returned, with the following resolutions: Resolved, That if the friends of Woodbury, desirous of retaining the public buildings there, will guarantee to release the townships of Galloway, Egg Harbour, Hamilton and Weymouth from any expense by taxation for the erection of new public buildings, for the space of twenty years, and in case of said townships, within that space of time, shall petition to the Legislature to be struck off into a separate county, they shall use their influence with the said townships to obtain such division, and to advance a rateable proportion towards building their said public buildings, equal to what the said Townships have advanced towards the present public property of the county; and if they will meet us on these terms we will give our whole interest to Woodbury, and if the friends of Woodbury will not comply with the above resolution, that the said lower townships will unanimously give their suffrages to Camden. Resolved, That Lewis M. WALKER, John STEELMAN, Robert LEEDS, and Daniel BAKER be a committee to meet the committee of the other townships at any time and place they may appoint to enter into the arrangement stated in the first resolution.
