Surrogate END There is a one-line record in "Hunterdon County Marriages 1795-1875" by Hiram Deats in 1918 which reads: BEGIN Titus, Martha and John Garrison, Apr. 26, 1828, 2-332 (Boggs). END Note - the above refers to a different John Garrison. Also see Records->Marriages->17.1.jpg From Diane (Walters) Hearne (0.606) in 2006: BEGIN [In 1830] John Garrison, living in Warren County, Mansfield: one male under 5 (William?), one 5-10 (James?), one 30-40 (John?), one female under 5 (Nancy?), one female 5-10 (Rebecca?), one 10-15 (Louisa?), one 30-40 (Martha Everitt?), one female 60-70 (Martha's mother?) Also a John Garrison: one male 70-80 and one female 50-60 [In 1840 Alexandria] John Garrison (back in Alexandria after being in Mansfield, Warren T. in 1820 and 1830- the 1820 I get from his son James who later states that he was born in Mansfield T. in 1820 or 21) one boy 5-10 (John who died in 1845?), one boy 10-15 (William?), one boy 15-20 (James), one male 40-50 (John), one female 10-15 (Nancy), one female 40-50 (Martha), (Louisa would have already been married). In 1850, of course, John 56 and Martha 56 are living in Alexandria with "Deanna" 85 and John Hummel 52, laborer, widowed, and William Hummel (this is hard to read, but it's what I've gleaned) According to Ancestry, John Hummel was married to Mary Thatcher. He died in 1861. in 1840 there was a John Hummel in Bethlehem with one male 10-15, one 40-50, one female 5-10, one female 30-40. On the same page are William Cole, 2 Williams Tinsmans, next page Jonathan Robins (I'm interested in this Hummel connection) END From Diane Hearne (0.606) on August 31, 2014: BEGIN I suspect that Martha Everett's parents were Abel Everitt and Margaret Beavers and that Martha's middle name was Anna (named after Col. Beavers wife, Ann Clifford).  The Beavers lived on land next to the Garrisons and Robbins.  There is a document having to do with Col. Beavers land signed by a John Garrison and a "Marther" Everitt. Col. Beavers specifically left Abel Everitt out of his will, stating that that portion of his inheritance was to go to his daughter (he had about 11), Margaret Everitt.  Abel was in the Poorhouse in 1850. END From: "George Carkkhuff" Sent: Wednesday, December 28, 2005 5:37 PM BEGIN Your query to Hunterdon County Historical Society for publication in the Newletter arrived the other day where I'm Librarian and Newsletter Editor and as I was putting it in the computer realized some of the names were familiar. Thought you would be interested in knowing when they died and where they are buried. Our former Manuscript Curator, Ron Schultzel, copied tombstone inscriptions in the Jarrard Family cemetery off Garrison Road in Alexandria Township, Hunterdoln County and they include: John Garrison, died 12-12-1851 aged 59.11.10 [that's 59 years, 11 months, 10 days] Martha Garrison, widow of John, died 7/2/1866 age 76 years John Garrison, son of John and Martha, died 6/8/1845 age 13.0.17 Also buried there were the couple Ron and I believe were John's parents: Garrison, Dinah, born 10/9/1772, died 5/31/1857 aged 84 years James Garrison, born Feb. 1767, died Dec. 1825 Roxanne Carkhuff END
