BEGIN mclean811@gmail.com 20 Jul 2017 I am researching Robbins from the Knowlton area where my Anna Robins married in 1803 Who is the young Abraham Robbins in the 1830 Knowlton census a few doors down from Issac Robins? Desperation causes me to speculate on naming patterns. In 1840 Columbia PA is John Jersey Robins son of Issac. His first 2 children are named (perhaps) after his parents Isaac and Bathsheba/Barbara Robins. The 3 child is named Abraham. Perhaps an Abraham is a maternal grandfather and is the father of Ann, the unknown wife of Daniel who died 1804 Barbara Garry Heagy gheagy@netflash.net Jul 21 2017 There may be a naming pattern, but John Jersey’s son’s full name was Abraham Lincoln Robbins. He also had a son named George Washington Robbins. Abraham could be a son of Isaac. The missing census of 1810 and 1820 would help us. From the 1830 census for Knowlton Twp, Warren County, NJ: Robbins, Abraham B. 10101-00001 Note: Abraham was aged in his 20’s This may not be the same Abraham, but I don’t have any other that matches: From the 1850 census for Phelps, Ontario County, NY: Robins, Abram B. 41 Machinist NJ Elizabeth 39 NY From the 1860 census for Phelps, Ontario County, NY: Robins, Abram B. 52 Day Laborer NJ Betsey E. 51 NY Abram died in Phelps on 22 Apr, 1878. mclean811@gmail.com Jul 21 2017 Thank you for the info on Abraham. Abraham's middle name of Lincoln is interesting since our president Lincoln was not yet born. I guess PA is the place to look. My Anna Robins moved from Knowlton to the Berks and Lancaster area of PA about 1808 (because her husband was a surveyor). Robbins & Maria M. Applegate. It lead to a couple of answers. Sometime ago I posted here the marriage announcement of William V Robbins & Jane Robbins from a Columbia newspaper in a search for their parents. BEGIN Posted by: "Kathleen Crellin" ktyc14@yahoo.com kty31451 Date: Fri Sep 8, 2017 7:46 am ((PDT)) I found a marriage between William V Robbins (son of Joseph Dildine Robbins) who lived in Columbia County and Ann Elizabeth Robbins whose father is John J Robbins.  First time I ran across a Robbins marrying a Robbins.  John J from New Jersey, I believe, who was married to Sophia Permilla Maine. William V would be a grandson of Joshua and Jane Robbins of the lost Sincy group. Must do more checking, if possible. Columbia county did not start recording marriage records until 1885 so not possible to get a copy of the original document.
