Anyone with info. about Clarissa LAKE. Born 1819/02/04. Married Daniel
Asselstine (1813-1901) on 1840/10/06. Died 1889or1899/11/15. Her parents
may be Aaron Lake & Elizabeth Keller. Near Kingston, Ontario, Canada.

My database indicates that per "Loyalist Lineages of Canada" pg 622, Clarissa
Lake was married to Daniel Asselstine.Their children are named as James
Isaac, Samuel Griswold, Charles Albert, John, Amarilla, Mary Ann.Clarissa
was the dau of Aaron Lake and granddaughter of Christoper Lake.Christopher
Lake was a Loyalist who removed to Ontario from Cambridge, Washington Co.,
NY.His father, John Lake was a brother to my ancestor, Thomas Lake.

You can email me directly if you would like a gedcom of this line.I would
also appreciate any clarification or corrections for the family group of
Clarissa and Daniel.

Thanks for the info. I would appreciate any info. you have re. their
ancestors. I have pages from a family Bible which lists births marriages
and deaths, including the names you listed. Daniel and Clarissa were my
wife's g-g-grandparents. I will send more by separate email.

Aaron LAKE b. 1819/2/3 in Loughborough twp. ON. married Elizabeth KELLER
and had the following children: Chrostopher, John, William, Isaac, Lydia,
Sussanah, Clarissa, James, Stephen, Sarah, Moses, Simon.  The Clarissa is
"mine", perhaps the James is "yours".

Thomas Lake--original UEL Lake--settled in Johnstown county Augusta county
Ontario. This is Brockville area. Not too far from Kingston.

I do not know too much about him except that I have his original deed to
UEL grant of land and that he had either two daughters, or Granddaughters,
Evelyn and Rebecca.Evelyn, born 1821 married my great great grandfather.

Thomas Lake was a United Empire Lyolist.

Evelyn/Evelina Lake and Rebecca Lake were daughters of Abraham Lake and his
wife, Mary.Abraham was the son of Thomas Lake of Wolford, UEL.My notes for
these women:

EVELINE LAKE
NAME:named in census as Eveline and Evaline.Named in father's will as
Avelina Knapp.
BIRTH:Birth year of 1811 per 1816 Wolford census, enumerated with Abraham
Lake.
MARR:Merrickville Union Cemetery records indicate she was the wife of
Barnabus Knapp who died 16 Mar 1880, age 76 yrs.
DEATH:14 Apr 1874 per Merrickville Union Cemetery records.

REBECCA LAKE
BIRTH:1814 per the 1816 and 1819 Wolford census,enumerated with Abraham Lake.
DEATH:Merrickville Union Cemetery records indicate she died 9 Aug 1805,
age 90 yrs but ages in the census seem to confirm her birth year of 1814.
NOTE:26 Aug 1874, Deed of Bargin and Sale by Rebecca Lake, Spinster, et al
(instrument 942).Listed as sellers are Rebecca Lake of Montague; Henry Lake
of California; Avelina Knapp, wife of Barnabus Knapp of Montague; Susannah
Wickwire, wife of William Wickwire of Merrickville; Josephine Loucks, wife
of Simon Loucks of Montague.All legatees under Will of Abraham Lake.Henry
also listed as Henry W. Lake, who was represented by a Notarised item from
the City of Nebraska, Otoe Co., Nebraska.

Keller/Asselstine link through my GGGGGranfather John, son of Isaac, who
was married to Frederick Keller, UEL's daughter Mary.

I've got lots of information, just don't know where to start.

Let me know what you would like to know about and I'll forward. I've got
a book published in 1949 outlining the name back to Utrecht, Holland circa
500 AD...Have you heard of "Coenradt Esselstyne, Ancestry and descendants
of Conrad Essestine, some allied families and other Asselstyne's"?
