From the Belvidere Intelligencer and Warren County Republican, Belvidere, New Jersey dated June 8, 1866: BEGIN A little child of Sylvester Robbins, Esq., aged about two years, was found drowned in a spring near the house, on the 25th of May. If we are not mistaken, Mr. R. is a brother of Moses Robbins, Esq., the gentlemanly and efficient Postmaster at Bloomsbury. Interment was in Riverview cemetery, Trenton. Mrs. Robbins' husband was a lawyer in Trenton for many years and prior to that taught school in Hunterdon County. Mrs. Robbins is survived by several cousins residing in Warren and Hunterdon Counties. Seems he graduated from Princeton in 1894, member of the Phi Beta Kappa, winner of the sophomore math prize and rcvd. a math fellowship. (My Great Aunt Emily was a math teacher, too. Talent must have missed me. My daughter seems to do well with it, tho.) He taught at the Lawrenceville School 1894 - 99; Wm Penn Charter School 1899-1914; with idnl. (?) dept. John Wanamaker, Phila. 1918-22; supt. schools in Jenkintown, PA 1922-26, and vp Darlington Jr. Coll, West Chester, PA.
