Jonathan R Godown was born in Hunterdon Co, New Jersey October 16,
1825. Jonathan died 1853 in Union Twp, Hunterdon Co, NJ, at 27 years of
age. There is an inventory of goods dated 1853 for a Jonathan recorded on
page 5424 in the Index of NJ wills.

He is buried in the Methodist church graveyard at Everittstown NJ.

He married Jane Mathews in Hunterdon Co, New Jersey, February 8, 1847.
On the 8th of Feb inst., by the Rev. S. W. Decker, Mr. Jonathan R.  Godown,
to Miss Jane, only daughter of John Matthews, Esq. of Alexandria.

Jane was born in Hunterdon Co, New Jersey 1825. Jane was the daughter of
John Mathews Esq and Elizabeth unknown.

Jonathan R Godown and Jane Mathews had the following children:

i. Emma Godown was born Alexandria Twp, Hunterdon Co, NJ 1851.

ii. Arabella Godown was born Alexandria Twp, Hunterdon Co, NJ 1853. Listed in
the 1860 census records. The name was in long hand and may be spelled wrong.

In the 1880 census 3rd Ward, Easton, Northampton, Pennsylvania page 399,
an Arabella (age 27) is living with William and Jane Plotts and is noted
as his step daughter.
