February 21, 1882, Forty-Fourth Volume, No. 27 On the evening of the 7th inst., the children, grand-children and neighbors of our old friend and patron, Mr. Thomas Lake, of Locktown vicinity, met at his house to give him a grand surprise on his birthday, he having rounded out 82 years on that day. November 21, 1882, Forty-Fifth Volume, No. 14 Local Department Mr. Charles Lake, an unmarried man, aged about 33 years, died very unexpectedly at the residence of his brother, Isaac, between Locktown and Sergeantsville, on Sunday night week ago. He had been suffering with toothache during the evening and the family retired leaving him sitting in a chair. When they arose in the morning he was dead, having passed away apparently without a struggle. He was a son of Mr. Thomas Lake. Heart disease is supposed to have been the cause of his death.
