"HISTORY OF HUNTERDON AND SOMERSET COUNTIES, NEW JERSEY" JAMES P. SNELL 1881 BEGIN HUNTERDON COUNTY. Jacob Prall married first Margaret Case, married second Mary Young. END from Marfy Goodspeed 16 Aug 2020 BEGIN In the issue of Sept. 28, 1859, the editor of the Hunterdon Gazette had to publish an apology to Jacob S. Prall for a very scadalous mistake: "A BIG MISTAKE.─ We regret that last week we published our friend Jacob S. Prall, at Reaville, as having been convicted of adultery at out [sic] late session of Court. It should have been Jacob F. Prall. We beg the pardon of Jacob S.” Jacob Sutphin Prall (1830-1877), son of Peter Prall & Catharine Sutphin, married Rebecca Williamson (1832-1907) in 1851. He was a school teacher and storekeeper at Reaville. One wonders how his friends and neighbors treated him after this. Jacob Fisher Prall (1800-1862), son of Abraham Prall & Sarah Fisher, was a whole generation older that Jacob S. Prall. He married Margaret Case (1810-1837) in 1827, and perhaps Mary Young (1815-1882) in 1838. Jacob F. Prall was fined $100 + costs for adultery and promptly left the county for Philadelphia (where he appeared in the census for 1860, without his wife). END
