County on 16 Sept. 1828 as guardian of Jane McBride, aged 11 years and 9 months, a minor and child of Samuel McBride. (246) Release of Philip Cool of Columbriana Co., Ohio, guardian of Jane McBride, only child of Samuel and Charlotte McBride, sd. Charlotte being one of the children of Philip Cool, dec'd, who was a son of Paul Kuhl Sr. and brother of Paul Kuhl Jr. and also one of the legatees named in the will of Paul Kuhl, Jr., dec'd. His parents and grandparents had immigrated from Ireland in 1785. Samuel's mother, Jean, died in 1815 in Virginia when he was 21 years old. His sister Jennet (Jane) married Lambert LaRue who was born in Hampshire County Virginia before 1819. Lambert LaRue's sister Phoebe LaRue, married William Medley and their child, Abigail, was Samuel's third wife. Some of the McBride family moved to Richland County Ohio, sometime after their mother Jean McBride died in 1815. Samuel's father Alexander, died in Ohio in 1835, a year after Samuel married Abigail. Samuel was married 3 times, his first wife was Charlotte Cool, 1815, they had 2 children. Samuel then married Rebecca Hansil in 1819 in Mansfield Richman Ohio. Samuel married his 3rd wife Abigail in Richland County Ohio in 1834, he was 40 years old and Abigail was 22. They had 1 son and 5 daughters between the year 1838 and 1853. His daughter's Catherine, Nancy & Margaret (Ella) were all in California in 1869. He was 75 and Abigail was 57, according to the Pioneer List of California to Woodland, Yolo CA. Samuel's son John was in California before 1871. Samuel was a farmer in Yolo CA and is buried at Mary's church and cemetery in Woodland, Yolo CA. He died in 1875 at age 83. Abigail lived with her son John McBride on the farm at the time of her death.. Samuel lived the first 21 years of his life in Virginia, the next 54 years were spent in Ohio where he married and raised his children and his last 8 years were spent in California. END
