Date: Tue, 24 Apr 2018 15:00:13 -0400 From: Craig Kanalley BEGIN There is a new Lake descendant on Gedmatch.. Patricia Edna Coe, Kit #A083829 [www.gedmatch.com]. Her line of descent to Christopher and Susannah Lake- Great-grandmother - Electra Omimee Lake born 1889 Ontario 2nd great-grandfather - Christopher Thompson Lake born 1861 3rd great-grandfather - Moses Anson Lake born 1828 4th great-grandfather - Aaron Lake born 1788 White Creek NY 5th great-grandparents - Christopher Lake and Susannah Patricia shares a good-sized DNA segment with my father's sister on Chromosome 3 -- this is LAKE DNA. Comparing Kit T889173 (Colleen Kanalley Zybala) and A083829 (Patricia Edna Coe) Chr  Start Location End Location Centimorgans (cM) SNPs  3 73,039,588 130,638,141 37.8 5,647Largest segment = 37.8 cM Total of segments > 7 cM = 37.8 cM 1 matching segments Estimated number of generations to MRCA = 4.3 I had already identified part of this Chr. 3 segment as LAKE DNA, however only from 113-129.  I now know this segment of LAKE DNA extends from 73-130.  That's a good-sized chunk that my Mary Lake Friel shared with her brother Aaron Lake that handed down through the years. Because of the way siblings hand down DNA to future generations, this segment 73-130 on Chr. 3 is a segment inherited from one of Mary & Aaron's grandparents - it's either from John Lake, Margaret Snyder, Susannah's father or Susannah's mother.    Sarah Lake descendant Tony Muma (Kit M043033) inherited the 113-129 segment I previously mentioned, but Mary & Aaron's descendants Colleen and Patricia shared an even larger segment here. But then I checked Tony to Patricia -- Tony and Patricia's segment extends to 144.  So that's even more Lake side DNA there. Comparing Kit M043033 (Tony Mma) and A083829 (Patricia Edna Coe) Chr  Start Location End Location Centimorgans (cM) SNPs  3 113,935,819 144,033,788 30.5 4,221Largest segment = 30.5 cM Total of segments > 7 cM = 30.5 cM 1 matching segments Estimated number of generations to MRCA = 4.4 END From: Sandra Lake Date: Sun, 18 May 2003 16:00:00 +0000 BEGIN My husband is Douglas Norman Lake, his father was Robert John Harvey Lake, Roberts father was Myles Wilton Lake, Myles father was Norman Lake, Normans father was Moses Anson Lake, Moses' father was Aaron Lake. Myles has 11 children with two wives and they all have children, grand children, and some great grandchildren. The Lakes I am referring to apparently have been traced back to the mid 1600's in Washington County NewYork. You have a marriage record for Myles Wilton Lake and Mary Mittz on your website. They were residents of Desoronto, Ontario, Canada and were married in the early 1900's. This is my husbands grandfather. END message exchange ... Re: LAKE / Keller /Asselstine Ontario,1700's By genealogy.com user May 18, 2000 at 07:41:50 My wife, Ruth, also lists LAKE's, ASSELSTINE's and WAGAR's among her many UEL ancestors. One of Lydia Emily's older brothers, Sampson Eldon WAGAR, who married Mary Ann ASSELSTINE, is Ruth's g-grandfather. Ruth's g-grandmother, Mary Ann ASSELSTINE, was Charles Albert's younger sister. Not surprisingly, we live in the Quinte area.
