I do further ordain that at the decease of my widow that all the household furniture that shall be inventoried shall be equally divided between my two daughters, Mary and Nancy. I do further ordain that at the decease of my widow that all the moveable property that is on the farm be equally divided between my two sons Samuel and Richard. And I further ordain and appoint Caleb Bonnisteel and my wife Elizabeth Smith Executor and Executrix of this Last Will and Testament. Signed - Richard Smith (x - his mark) In witness whereof the said Elizabeth Smith hereunto set her hand and seal this seventeeth day of September, 1835. --- Signed - Elizabeth Smith (x-her mark) --- --------------------- Elizabeth was alive on September 17, 1835, to register Richard's will after his death. She was to have possession of the farm that she and Richard lived on for the rest of her life or until she remarried. When either of these events occurred, the 200 acres were to be divided between her two youngest sons, the eastern half to Richard and the western half to Samuel R. It appears that Elizabeth probably died within a few months of her husband because both Samuel and Richard had possession of the farm by March of the following year. This seems to early for her to have remarried, however, she was about 17 years younger than her husband so she would have only been about 58 when he died. Her son Samuel R. sold his half of the family farm on the 19th of March of 1836 and Richard sold his half on 30th of November of the same year.
