Pearce To: Marshall Lake Eleanor Jacobus was the daughter of Garrett Jacobus.  Please check the names in my Tree.  Eleanor m. Asa Lake.  Garrett was a first cousin of Sarah Jacobus, the wife of my 2d great grandfather Col. Wm. Willis Pearce.  They went further west and settled in Decatur Co., IN at St. Omer.  Newly married Col. Pearce and Sarah migrated with Simon Jacobus and possibly Garrett and their families to eastern Indiana in 1818 from Yates Co., NY.  They were able to buy land in Decatur Co. IN in 1820.  Their home farms were near St. Omer.  My grandfather, Herman A. Pearce, relocated to Fayette Co., IN about 1901.  Willis Pearce's brother, Benjamin Pearce and some of his family, did move directly to Fayette Co. , IN in 1818.  Benjamin had descendants, I think many of them moved further west.
