Emily Jane DOUGLAS D/O Stephen Van Rensselaer DOUGLAS of Brantford, Upper Canada. Her mother was the daughter of the Rev. Thom. WHITEHEAD, who was born in Dutchess County, New York. JOHN N. LAKE, in 1862 while stationed at Markham, near Ontario the Rev. Mr. Lake's health failed, and for several years he was part of the time engaged in business pursuits. In 1869 he was stationed at Niagara; here his eyes failed, and regretfully he retired from the active ministry. In 1870 he entered the real estate and loan business in Toronto, Mr Lake Also engaged in the building business, which he found very profitable. Many of the finest residences in the city were erected by him. No issues for John and Emily Jane Lake have been found. John may have remarried as there is two LAKE women in his burial site. Adam BENN Charity and Adam settled in the Norfolk are near Simcoe. This is where she died. d.October 3, 1858, age 44 yr. Mrs. BENN, Charity sister of Rev. JOHN N. LAKE of Ingersol was born at Ernestown, got married 20 years ago and moved not long after that to Walpole Twp. Haldimand County, where she died Oct. 3, 1858, aged 44 yrs. Survived by her husband Adam BENN and children. BENN JOHN HIRAM, second son of Adam H. BENN and Charity LAKE died in Walpole October 31, 1860 Age 15 years 7 m. 21 d. Registered November 14, 1860.
