    daughter of the late John and Sarah Hess Lake. She was a member of the
    McConnellsburg United Methodist Church.  Surviving are a daughter and two
    sons: Mrs. Lena M. Batzelle. McConnellsburg: DeanM. Brant and Walter L.
    Brant, both of RD. McConnellsburg; eight grandchildren. 16 great-grand
    children and four greai-great-grandchildren and a brother. Elbert Lake.
    McConnellsburg.  Funeral services were held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday. March
    16. in the John J. Kelso Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. David
    S. Cheslock. Burial was made in the Sideling Hill Christian Cemetery.

    Walter L. Brant, 82, McConnellsurg, died Thursday morning, February 20,
    1992 in Leisure Living Retirement Home, Fort Littleton.  Born August 4,
    1909 in McConnellsburg, he was a son of the late Clem C. and Goldie
    Lake Brant.  He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and American
    Legion Post 561.  A World War II veteran, he served in the Army.  He was
    a carpenter.  Surviving are his wife, Dorothy DeShong Brant, whom he
    married July 3, 1953; sister, Lena Batzelle of McConnellsburg; brother,
    M. Dean of McConnellsburg and nieces and nephews.  Services were held
    at 2:00 p.m.  Monday, February 24 in the Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home,
    Inc., Harrisonville.  The Rev. Clyde White officiated. Burial was made
    in Union Cemetery.  Full military services were conducted by the Fulton
    Honor Guard.
