    Lester W. Mellott, 69, of Needmore, died unexpectedly at 7.30 p.m. Monday,
    April 1, 1968 at his home. Death was attributed to a heart attack.

    Born June 1, 1896 in Thompson Township, he was a son of the late Michael
    and Sarah Hess Mellott.

    He was a member of the Sideling Hill Baptist Church, and was a retired
    farmer.

    Surviving in addition to his widow, Mrs. Lola Deshong Mellott, are a
    son, Kermit Mellott of Needmore; a daughter, Mrs. Margaret Mellott,
    Warfordsburg; eight grandchildren; one great-grandson; two brothers,
    Reed Mellott of Needmore, and Russell Mellott of St. Thomas, and a
    sister, Mrs. Mollie Garland of McConnellsburg.

    Funeral services will be held at 2.00 p.m. today (Thursday) at the
    Sideling Hill Baptist Church with Elder John Wood officiating. Burial
    will be made in the adjoining cemetery.

    Lola Ruth Mellott, 83, Warfordsburg, died at 6.00 P.M. on Saturday, July
    17, 1982 in Washington County Hospital, Hagerstown, Md., where she was
    a patient for more than a month. She was in ill health the past two years.

    Born in Needmore, April 9, 1899, she was the daughter of the late Clayton
    and Parthenia Lake DeShong. Her husband, Lester W. Mellott, died in 1968.

    Mrs. Mellott was a Spencer Garment dealer for several years and she was
    employed by Mercersburg Dress Co. for many years. She was a member of
    Sideling Hill Baptist Church.

    Surviving are a son, Kermit E. Mellott, Needmore; a daughter, Margaret
    (Mrs. Boyd) Mellott, with whom she resided; eight grandchildren and
    15 great-grandchildren.

    The funeral was held Tuesday at 2.00 P.M. in Howard L. Sipes Funeral
    Home, Harrisonville, with Elder Russell Sufphin officiating. Burial
    was in Sideling Hill Baptist Cemetery, Needmore.
