    ST. THOMAS--Russell D. Mellott, 83, of 6655 Lincoln Way West, died at
    4:10 p.m. Sunday ---y 3, 1992 in Chambersburg Hospital after an illness
    of six months.

    Born June 11, 1908 in Fulton County, he was a son of the late Michael
    W. and Sarah Hess Mellott.

    He attended St. Thomas Assembly of God Church.

    For 23 years, he was employed at Letterkenny Army Depot, retiring in 1974.

    His wife, Maria Strait Mellott, died May 16, 1990.

    Surviving are four daughters, Catherine (Mrs. Francis R.) Shives of
    6709 Town Drive; Juanita (Mrs. Robert) Frost of Harrisburg; Mary Jean
    (Mrs. Joseph) Tarner of 1184 Williamson Road and Alma (Mrs. Ronald)
    Fritz of 1681 Ragged Edge Road, Chambersburg; a son, Henry D. of Utica,
    Mich.; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. A sister and five
    brothers preceded him in death.

    Serivce will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Robert G. Sellers Funeral Home
    Inc., Chambersburg. The Revs. Mark S. Caston and William Swope will
    officiate. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg.

    Visitation will be from 7 to 9 tonight in the funeral home.
