Taylor, W 1023 Montgomery avenue, was married to William F. Clausen of the Western Union Life Insurance Company last Thursday evening, the Rev. W. H. Koss officiating. The ceremony took place at the home of the bride's parents. A buffet luncheon was served and an informal reception given to Western Union Life employees. The bride was gowned in white crepe de chine and carried a shower bouquet of pink bride's roses. He was born September 24, 1916 in Spokane, WA, the son of William and Lenore Clausen. Previous to high school, his family moved to Redondo Beach, CA, where he graduated from high school in 1934. After graduation his family returned to Spokane and Bill began working as an office boy at the Washington Water Power Company (Avista). With the completion of several accounting classes, Bill was able to work up the ranks of the company retiring as the Assistant Treasurer in 1981. Bill was instrumental in establishing the Avista Employees Credit Union and served on the Board of Directors. He was a 66-year member of the company's Trail Blazers. While attending high school, Bill was one of only a few students selected for musical instruction on the pipe organ, which he mastered. As an accomplished organist, he played Sunday services at Millwood Presbyterian, many years at Central Lutheran Church and substituted at different churches after his retirement. He was a charter member of the Spokane Chapter of The American Guild of Organists formed in 1945. An avid sailor Bill owned his own sailboat on Lake Coeur d'Alene for many years and was a charter member of the Panhandle Yacht Club. He is a member of the Spokane Elks and a current member of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church. Bill was preceded in death by his parents and survived by his only brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Ruth Clausen of Sedona, AZ; three nieces, one nephew and their families. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, November 4, 2005 at 11 a.m. at Heritage Funeral Home with a private interment at Spokane Memorial Gardens on Saturday, November 5th, 2005.
