Charles Martin Ward, 84, of 108 Washington Street, Hancock, died Sunday,
November 6 at Washington County Hospital in Hagerstown.

Born in Buck Valley, PA, he was a son of Simon and Sarah Flowers Ward and
the husband of the late Ruie Hendershot Ward. He was a retired laborer for
the Pennsylvania Department of Highways.

He was a member of the Amarantha Church of the Brethren.

He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Delma Carnell of Central City, PA,
Mrs. Helen Barnhart of Warfordsburg, PA, Miss Emma Ward of Hancock and
Mrs. Mary Jane Young of Berkeley Springs, WV; sons, Claude Ward of Needmore,
PA, Glenn Ward of Hancock, Dane Ward of Baltimore and Richard Ward of Hancock;
a brotber, Raymond Ward, of Hancock; a sister, Mrs. Emily Scriver of Valley
View Nursing Horne in Berkeley Springs; and 21 grandchildren, eight great
grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, eight step great grandchildren,
and two step great great grandchildren.

Services were held on Wednesday, November 9 at the Grove Funeral Home in
Hancock. The Rev. William Merkie officiated; burial was in Buck Valley
Methodist Cemetery in Warfordsburg.

Memorial donations may be made to Hancock Rescue Squad or American Heart
Association.
