Kishbaugh Birth: Oct. 25, 1925 Berwick Columbia County Pennsylvania, USA Death: Jun. 17, 2014 Bloomsburg Columbia County Pennsylvania, USA Published: June 19, 2014 Doyle D. Kishbaugh, 88, of Bloomsburg went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 17, 2014, at his home. He was born Oct. 25, 1925, in Berwick, a son of the late Frank and Clara Fahringer Kishbaugh. Doyle attended Berwick High School. He was a life member of Espy Fire Company 1 and a Susquehanna Valley World War II veteran. He was also a member of Trinity Reformed United Church. He enjoyed collecting Avon bottles and camping and had been in all of the United States except nine. Doyle enlisted in the United States Army in 1938, where he served in Rome-Arno, Southern France, Central Europe and Rhineland. During his time of service, he received the Good Conduct Medal, European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, World War II Victory Medal, Bronze Sv Star "Rome-Arno," Ltr MTOUSA, Bronze Sv Star "Southern France," Bronze SV Star "Rhineland," Bronze Sv Star "Cen Europe," and Bronze Invasion Arrowhead. He was honorably discharged in 1945. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Virginia Mae Kishbaugh, in 1949; a stepson, David Romig, in 2004; a grandson, Jeromy Romig, in 1992; four sisters: Mary Travilett in 1947; Vera Harvey in 1981; Ruby Cragle in 2007; Shirley Cragle in 2008; and a brother, Jay Kishbaugh, in 2008. Doyle is survived by his wife, the former Shirley Boyer, whom he married June 25, 1971; a daughter, Jean Ann Whitenight, in Orlando, Fla.; a stepson, Terry Romig, and his wife, Sandra, of Catawissa; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Trinity Reformed United Church, 260 E. Seventh St., Bloomsburg, with his pastor, Steven Engelhardt, officiating. Burial will be at Elan Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Friday at Trinity Reformed United Church from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
