John Joseph Burke of Vestal, N.Y.
  John Joseph Burke, 81, of Vestal, NY passed away Friday, July 5, 1996 at
Wilson Memorial Hospital.  John was born in Auburn Township, Susquehanna
County, a son of the late Andrew and Ella (Gill) Burke.  He was a graduate
of Mansfield State Teachers College Class of 1938, was a Customer Engineer
for IBM from 1942-1975.  He was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church,
Vestal, N.Y., and a member of the Knights of Columbus.  John and his wife
celebrated their 53rd Wedding Anniversary in October of 1995.  He is survived
by his wife Ethel (Ginader) Burke, of Vestal; a daughter and son-in-law,
Jeanann and William Bilynsky, of Endwell, N.Y.; a son and daughter-in-law,
Patrick and Anita Burke, Auburn, Pa.; six grandchildren, Nicole and Daniel
Burke, Daniel and Brian Bilynsky, Jeremy and Jason Hurlburt; one sister,
Ann B. Burns of Montrose, Pa.; four nieces.
  Funeral services will be held Monday July 8, 1996 at 10 a.m. from the
Bartron Funeral Home Inc., 74 Church St., Montrose, Pa. with a Mass of
Christian Burial at 11 a.m. from St. Bonaventure Church, Auburn, Pa. with
the Rev. Donald Van Amburgh, Pastor at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, as
Celebrant.  The interment will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery, Auburn, Pa.
Friends may call Sunday from 2 to 4 and after 7 p.m. at the funeral home,
where a wake service will be held at 7 p.m.  Friends wishing to, may make
memorial contributions to the Vestal Ambulance Service, Town Hall, Vestal,

Ethel W. Burke, 86, of Auburn Township, Meshoppen, died Nov. 26 at her home.
Born July 5, 1915, in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and
Catherine Ginader.  Surviving are a daughter, Jean Ann Bilynski, Syracuse,
N.Y.; a son, Patrick, Elk Lake; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren;
and nieces and nephews.  The funeral was held Nov. 29 in St. Bonaventure
Church, Auburn.  Arrangements, Bartron Funeral Home Inc., 74 Church St.,
Montrose.
