Mr. Clampitt was born in Huntington county on October 24, 1853, the son of George and Mahala Swaim Clampitt, and was 77 years and 22 days of age at the time of his death. Surviving are the widow; four children, Mrs. Nova Tucker, Olney, Illinois; Mrs. Frances M. Newman, Huntington; Mrs. Lula D. Oswalt, Huntington; and R. G. Clampitt, Seminole, Okla.; and one brother, David Clampitt, of Marion. Three children are deceased. He was a member of the I. O. O. F. lodge and Christian church. The funeral services will be held at two o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the Congressional Christian church at Warren, in charge of Rev. F. A. Cooper. Interment will be made in the Barnes Chapel cemetery [sic-Star of Hope Cemetery].
