The size is slightly enlarged in the photocopy. I could measure the original if you want. The copied colors are very accurate. I have no idea what the patch symbolizes, but I have a friend who could tell me. The envelope is also enlarged in the photocopy, but was a standard airmail letter enveope. Joe Snook was a Corporal so I have no idea if the patch represented that status or was representative of the company, battalion, etc. For a while, I had it displayed at the museum of which I was president during a Memorial Day or Veteran's Day exhibit. My children could probably care not a bit about this treasure so I will probably eventually leave it to Joe's grgranddaughter who is not even 6 months old yet. Joe was born in 1910 so his grgranddaughter was born 102 years after he was! Joe's daughter Jill was adopted by Joe and his wife Ann after WWII. Since he could not father children due to having the mumps as an adult, they adopted a pure Native American child as Joe, as I am, was part Cherokee and Lenni Lenape, only he really looked the part. He was really tall and slender with dark brown eyes and black straight hair that he combed straight back when he was young. I could find the photo and scan it so you would have a photo to go with the letter. His daughter Jill is two years younger than I am so Joe was 37 by the time she was adopted. Jill has one daughter, Holly Buff. Holly and her fiance have one daughter, Rhayna Helene Murarik. (I hope I spelled that correctly.) Joe and his wife Ann Linderman (I think that was her surname.) are both deceased. My dad is deceased, but my mom is 88. If you want dates, I will give them to you as they are marked on their headstones.
