    "ST. THOMAS, Pa. - Jesse H. Garland, 90, of 9713 Garland Drive, died
    Monday, Sept. 27, 2004, at his home. He was the son of the late John
    and Annie Hanks Garland. He is survived by his wife, Thelma A. Cavender
    Garland; one daughter, Arlene Gomer of St. Thomas; two sons, Ernest
    J. Garland of St. Thomas and William D. Garland of Mercersburg, Pa.;
    one brother, John Garland of Chambersburg, Pa.; seven grandchildren;
    and six great-grandchildren. Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at
    Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, St. Thomas. The Rev. Harold Yeager
    will officiate. Burial will be in Stenger Hill Cemetery, Fort Loudon,
    Pa., with military services by the Honor Guard of St. Thomas American
    Legion. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the
    funeral home, which will open at 2 p.m. The family requests the omission
    of flowers. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice."
