While operating his automobile, he hit the back end of a milk wagon which backed out of a lane and into his path. His car careened off the road and hit a tree. The accident occurred on Wednesday evening, August 1st. The milk wagon was driven by Peter Weissman. Harry Kinney; Find-A-Grave memorial #42371356, the passenger in Albert's car, was ejected from the vehicle but survived the crash. Unconscious at the crash site, Harry later gave an account of the accident upon regaining consciousness at the hospital. Albert was pinned behind the steering wheel after a part of the tree smashed through the windshield. He died the following day. Albert Hagaman resided with his parents, two sisters and a brother at the Milford Hotel in Milford, Hunterdon County, NJ. He was predeceased by an older sister. Albert attended the local schools in Little York and Frenchtown High School. Services were held on Sunday, August 5th., at the Milford Christian Church. According to the Easton Argus: "It was one of the largest funerals held there in years. The Church was packed with relatives and his many friends. He was a very popular young man in the community. The floral tributes were unusually numerous and beautiful." The services were conducted by Rev. E.P. Upright and Rev. Gage. The pallbearers were John "Jack" Balliet, William Stem, Lester Farline, Paul Hyman, Albert Crouse and Harry Shuster. Interment was in the Milford Union Cemetery.
