Lake, Jr., 91, of Howell, N.J., passed away on Wednesday, July 26, 2017, at Bella Terra, Jackson, N.J. Alfred born in Woodbury, N.J., and had lived in Old Bridge, N.J., before moving to Howell in 1972. Alfred had worked for International Vitamin Corporation in Freehold, N.J., for 11 years and had also served in the United States Army. He was the financial officer at The Villages, an active member of the American Legion in Pennsylvania, and of the VFW in Freehold. Alfred served as secretary of the Manasquan Fishing Club and loved to talk about fishing. He also enjoyed working out at Bally's and discussing stocks. Alfred was predeceased by his wife, Else Lake, in 2017; brother, Robert Lake, and sister, Dorothy Nester. All arrangements are private. Lake, 87, of Howell, N.J., passed away on Tuesday, March 7, 2017, at CareOne at Jackson. A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Rd. (Route 524), Freehold Township, N.J., on Friday, March 10, 2017, from 2 to 5 p.m. with her funeral service to follow at 5 p.m. Interment will be private. Else was born in Nuremberg, Germany, and moved to the U.S. at the age of 18. In her spare time, she loved to sew and read. She was also very fond of animals, especially cats. Else is survived by her husband of 64 years, Alfred Lake of Howell.
