She married JOHN GINGER MELLOTT August 04, 1892 in Fulton Co., Pa., son of DAVID MELLOTT and HARRIET LAKE. He was born June 26, 1869 in PA, and died May 23, 1937. BEDFORD] of Bedford, died at the home of her son-in-law and daughter Mr. and Mrs. John RASP of Carlisle, Pa., on Sunday, December 31, 1944, at 5 p.m. Death was caused by a heart attack. Although she had been in poor health for several years, her death came as a shock to her friends and relatives. She was born at Whip's Cove, Fulton County, on August 7 1866. She was united in marriage to John G. MELLOTT of Fulton County on August 4, 1892. Survivors include two daughters and two sons: Janet, wife of Alfred EGOLF, Carlisle R.D. 3; Blanche [Mrs. John RASP] and Sharpe P. MELLOTT, both of Carlisle and Ray H. MELLOTT of Baltimore, Md. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and the following sisters: Elnora [Mrs. Joseph POTTER], Amaranth; Agnes [Mrs. James HORNBAKER] Mercersburg, R.D.; Emma [Mrs. Issac BOLLINGER] Three Springs; Lura [Mrs. William FUNK] and Delilah [Mrs. Fred KYLE] both of Carlisle; and Eva [Mrs. Ira MILLER] Phoenix, Arizona. Mrs. MELLOTT was a member of the Church of the Brethren and had lived a faithful and consistent Christian life. The funeral service was held at the J. R. Shutenberger funeral home, Carlisle, on Thursday, January 4, 1945, at 1:30 p.m. Interment was made in the Mount Holly Cemetery." Mellott, 68, stricken ill Friday night after he had completed arrangements for his granddaughter's funeral died a 7 o'clock last night at the home of his son, John K. Mellott, Carlisle. Mr. Mellott became unconscious after making arrangements for the burial of Dorothy Mellott, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. John K. Mellott, with whom he resided. The granddaughter, aged 6, died on Friday and was buried yesterday. He was a member of the First Church of the Brethren here and taught a class in the Barnitz Methodist Sunday School Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Alice Bedford Mellott: two daughters and three sons, Mrs. Alfred Egolf, Mrs. John Rasp and Sharp Mellott, all of Carlisle; John K. and Ray Mellott, both of Carlisle, R.D. 5; a sister, Mrs. George Miller, Shade Gap; Two brothers, Ephraim A., Carlisle and Howard S. Mellott, Handcock, MD.; 12 grandchildren and a great grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon from the home of the son, John. burial will be in Mt. Holly Cemetery. Rev. H. M. Snavely, pastor of First Church of the Brethren will officiate. Friends may call Tuesday night at the home of the son. Private funeral services for Dorothy were held yesterday afternoon from the home. Burial was in Mt. Holly Cemetery with Rev. Snavely officiating. The pallbearers were Paul Calaman, George Bear, Franklin Winchell and Earl McClintock. END
