Thayne, 73, of 12 South Loder Ave., Endicott, was dead on arrival at Ideal Hospital Saturday at 10:30 a.m. She is survived by 7 daughters, Mrs. Anthony (Anne) Veruto, Endicott; Mrs. Phillip (Dawn) Paradis, Maine; Mrs. Gary (Janet) Hanns, Hubert, N.C.; Mrs. John (Maureen) Sementelli, Longmont, Colo.; Mrs. James (Nancy) Michael; Mrs. David (Sandra) Leonard, Miss Cathy Thayne, all of Endicott; 1 son, John Thomas Thayne, Endicott; 24 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; 4 sisters, Mrs. Vincent (Catherine) Riley, Owego; Mrs. Dorothy Place, Endicott; Mrs. Frank (Mary) Hackett, Vestal; Mrs. Paul (Ruth) Shoquette, Quincey, Mass.; 1 brother, Stanley Maxwell, Hartford, Conn.; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was a member of St. Ambrose Church, Endicott. Funeral services will be held today at 9 a.m. from the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 E. Main St., Endicott and at 9:30 a.m. at St. Ambrose Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. Thayne, 51, went to sleep in the arms of her Lord on June 19, 1998 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was predeceased by her loving parents, John and Helen Thayne, and her sister, Rene Sementelli. She is survived by one brother, John Thomas and his wife Halina; her sisters, Anne Veruto, Dawn Paradis and her husband Phil, Janet Hanns, Nancy Michael, Sandra Leonard and her husband David, and her brother-in-law, John Sementelli, Jr. She is also survived by loving cousins, Shirley Rollo, and Ann Silvernail; her very special friend, Judy Tator; and caring friends, Cindy Ely and Shirley Moss; also survived by aunts, uncles and cousins. She also leaves her loving Godchildren, Ronald Paradis, Lynn Sementelli, Cathryn Paradis, Julie Hanns, and Ryan Ely. Catherine wishes to thank her family and friends for their care and unconditional love that gave her the strength to endure. She wishes her Godchildren to remember her by staying faithful to the truly important things in life. Also a special thanks to Dr. Joseph Readling and the Lourdes Hospice staff for their gentle care. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11:30 a.m. at the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main St., Endicott followed by a Funeral Mass at 12 noon at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Endicott.
