From the Kalazoo Gazette, Kalamazoo, Michigan dated April 22, 2000: BEGIN KISHPAUGH, Mr. Richard "Dick" S. Parchment, MI. Died Thursday afternoon, April 20, 2000. Mr. Kishpaugh was born February 27, 1926 in Miami, FL, a son of Thomas Jefferson Stewart and Gladys (Leiter) Kishpaugh. He had been a Kalamazoo area resident for 50 years, coming from Battle Creek. He was employed at National Water Lift for 11 years, retiring in 1987. He was a member of the First Congregational Church, where he served as Deacon. He was also a member of the Parchment Rotary Club, Titanic Historical Society; National Model Railroader Association; Michigan Sports Sages; College Sports Information Director's Association; Michigan High School Athletic Association; and the selection committee of the College Football Hall of Fame. On July 9, 1949 he was united in marriage to Shirley J. (Oster) Kishpaugh, who survives. Also surviving are 3 children, Jack Kishpaugh of Parchment, Janet Kishpaugh of Kalamazoo, and Carol (M'Hammed) Bouabdellaoui of Parchment; 2 granchildren, Leila and Jamal Bouabdellaoui; 2 sisters, Barbara Kishpaugh of San Antonio, TX, and Frances Henning of New Braunfels, TX; a niece Sandra Bou-Assi of Ayer, MA; and several cousins. In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place. Friends may meet the family 5-8pm Wednesday at the Langeland Family Funeral Home, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. A Memorial Service will be held 11 o'clock Thursday at the First Congregational Church, 129 S. Park St., with the Rev. Dr. Robert Noblett officiating. Private inurnment of cremains will take place at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the Parchment Rotary Club Scholarship Fund or the Parchment Community Library.
