END From the Montrose Independent, Montrose, Pennsylvania dated March 12, 1953: BEGIN Augustus Ira Raub, 72, died at his home in Forest Lake Township on Tuesday morning, March 10, 1953, at 2:30. Mr. Raub had been in ill health for some months and was a patient in Binghamton Hospital for many weeks before returning to his home near Fair Hill a number of weeks ago. He was the son of John and Amanda Teel Raub and his entire life was spent in the community, where he followed farming for many years and was a highly respected citizen. He was a member of the Forest Lake Church. He is survived by his wife, the former Grace Mawhiney; one daughter, Mrs. Steven Davis, of South Montrose, and three grandchildren. His funeral will be held in the Bowen Funeral Home, Montrose, Friday afternoon at 2, the Rev. Kenneth Wilhite officiating. Interment in Fairdale Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Wm. Hawley, James Hawley, Earle Blaisure, Eldred Green, Dwane Sivers and Ralph Lee. END
