END From the Montrose Independent, Montrose, Pennsylvania dated February 1, 1951: BEGIN Mr. and Mrs. Reed H. Raub will observe their fiftieth wedding anniversary at their home on Drinker Street on Saturday, Feb. 17, from 2 to 5 and from 7 to 9. Friends are invited to call. They were married on Feb. 18, 1901, and lived the greater part of their married life on their farm in Forest Lake Township. They purchased their present home in Montrose a number of years ago, when Mr. Raub retired from active farming. Both are most highly regarded by their numerous friends. Prominent Businessman Is Victim of Heart Attack While in His Store. The sudden death on Saturday morning at 11:45 of Ernest E. MacPeek, 65, in his store on Public Avenue caused deep sorrow to his relatives and many friends. Mr. MacPeek had for some months been suffering from a heart ailment which had confined him to his Cherry street home, and only within recent weeks had he resumed part time work. He was conversing with John Wilcox, when he got up from a chair, took a few steps and fell lifeless. Mr. MacPeek had operated the electrical appliances store for twenty-seven years and was a man held in the highest esteem. He was known for his honest methods of business. He was a couteous, friendly man and highly regarded by all who were acquainted with him. He was a member of Salem Lodge of Masons, Hamlin, and local Masonic bodies. Mr. MacPeek was a part commander of Mazarene Commandery. He was a son of the late Frank and Matilda MacPeek and was born at Mt. Cobb, Pa., Feb. 15, 1889. His survivors are his wife, the former Miss Marjorie Raub; a sister, Mrs. Isabelle Marsden, Lake Ariel, Pa., and two brothers, Linus MacPeek, Lake Ariel, and Harry F. MacPeek, Milwaukee, Wis. His funeral was largely attended Tuesday afternoon at the Bowen Funeral Home, his pastor, the Rev. E. Wesley Gregson, of the Presbyterian church, officiated. Interment was in Montrose cemetery. Casket bearers were Stuart Miller, Donald Dean, Audley Lott, William T. Smith, Walter Blochberger and Thomas Lewis. A Masonic service was held in the funeral parlor Monday evening.
