"Bill" Smith Sr., 76, Beach Haven, was pronounced dead on arrival Saturday morning in the emergency room of the Berwick Hospital Center. He had been ill for two years. He was born in Salem Township, Oct. 9, 1911, the son of the late William and Eva Kishbaugh Smith. He lived in Salem Township all his life. Mr. Smith was employed by AC&F, Berwick, as a precision grinder until 1962. He then went to work for Berwick Forge and Fabricating, retiring in 1976. He enjoyed woodcutting as a hobby. Surviving are his wife, the former Esther Betty Shiner, to whom he was married 29 years; a son, Wilbur F. Smith Jr., Berwick; two daughters, Mrs. Galen (Patricia) Waltman, Nescopeck; Mr. Mark (Sarah) Konrad, Berwick; step-children, Mrs. George (Beth) Parks, Millville; Kathy Zajac, Bloomsburg; and Michael Miller, Berwick; 16 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A sister, Betty Brown, died previously. Services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. from the Mayo Funeral Home, Second and Chestnut streets, Berwick, with the Rev. Robert D. Eastlack, Grace Lutheran Church, Berwick, officiating. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Walnut Street, Berwick. END
