McGlynn Longtime Sugarloaf resident, known for apple pies Dorothy M. McGlynn, 81, of Justofin Lane, Sugarloaf, passed away Wednesday morning, Oct. 13, 2004, at Hazleton General Hospital. Born in Nuremberg, May 9, 1923, she was a daughter of the late John and Hattie (Kishbaugh) Yeager. She spent the past 43 years in Sugarloaf, prior to that she had lived in Weston and Nuremberg. She was employed as a machine operator and supervisor in the local garment industry, retiring from Ship and Shore Garment Factory in West Hazleton. Mrs. McGlynn was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Conyngham. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, camping, cooking and baking. She was well known for her apple pies. Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were two brothers, Lloyd and Paul Yeager, and a granddaughter, Jean Austra-VanBlargan. Surviving are her husband of the past 63 years, Theodore "Teddy" McGlynn; one daughter, Carol Austra, and her husband, Edward, Ringtown; two granddaughters: Annmarie Carter, and her husband, Gerald, Ringtown; and Amy Austra, Shamokin; four great-grandchildren: Joshua, Elizabeth and Dorothy Carter and Joshua VanBlargan; one sister, Hazel Kahley, Parkview, Mich.; and several nieces and nephews. Her funeral will be held Friday at 10 a.m. from the Mark S. Harmon Funeral Homes Inc. (East), 669 W. Butler Driver, Drims, with continued services at 10:30 a.m. in Christ Lutheran Church, Main Street, Conyngham. The Rev. William (Chip) Fairchild will officiate the service; burial will be in Nuremberg Cemetery.
