transcription of Newspapers->Deaths->3.509-2.jpg From The Morning Press, Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania dated October 30, 1971: BEGIN Raymond Gearhart Raymond "Skinny" Gearhart, seventy-eight, of 543 East Fifth street, Nescopeck, died in Berwick Hospital yesterday at 5:30 p.m. He had been a patient for two weeks following a heart attack at his home. Born in Catawissa, he was a son of the late Franklin and Elizabeth Breech Gearhart. In his early life he worked for ACF Industries and the Pennsylvania Railroad. He was also employed by Pennsylvania Power and Light Company for 35 years, retiring in 1958. He started his utility company career as a lineman and concluded his work years as a rural engineer. He was a member of the St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Nescopeck; life member of Berwick Elks Club; member of Nescopeck Fire Company, and Pennsylvania Power and Light Company Credit Union. Surviving are his wife, the former Edna Kishbaugh; one daughter, Mrs. Edward (Virginia) Ferguson, Minnetonka Beach, Minn.; one granddaughter, Barbara Gearhart Ferguson; two brothers, Paul Gearhart, Berwick, and Kimber Gearhart, Flint, Mich. Funeral services will be held at eleven a.m. Monday from the Heller Funeral Home, Nescopeck, with Rev. Donald Steinhauer, St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Nescopeck, officiating, assisted by Rev. Ray Schloyer, Montoursville. Burial will be in Pine Grove cemetery, Walnut street, Berwick. Second St., Nescopeck, died at 3:50 p.m. Thursday at Berwick Hospital. She had been a guest at the Berwick Retirement Village since December 1983. Born in Nescopeck R.D. 1, July 7, 1897, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Mary Schloyer Kishbaugh. She was a lifelong Nescopeck resident and spent some years in Sunbury. Mrs. Gearhart was a former seamstress who worked for Rosenblum's in Sunbury and with Nellie Welliver of Berwick. She was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Nescopeck and its LCW. She was also a member of the Berwick Senior Citizens. Her husband, Raymond M. Gearhart, died Oct. 29, 1971. She was the last member of her immediate family. Surviving are a daughter, Virginia Ferguson, Minnetonka Beach, Minn.; and one granddaughter. Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. from the Heller Funeral Home, Nescopeck, with the Rev. Donald L. Steinhauer, her pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Walnut St., Berwick. END
