Remley Sr Wise Foods supervisor enjoyed family time Richard D. Remley Sr., 72, of 1437 Third Ave., Berwick, died suddenly at his home on Tuesday, April 11, 2006. Born on Dec. 27, 1933, in Berwick, he was a son of the late Stanley E. and Daisy May (Kishbaugh) Remley. For nearly 40 years, Mr. Remley worked as a supervisor at Wise Foods of Berwick. He retired in 1992 to care for his wife. He was a member of the Bethany United Methodist Church, Berwick. Richard enjoyed working on cars and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He most enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, the former Josephine L. Hobbes, whom he married on Feb. 17, 1951. Also survived by: son, Stanley E. Remley II, and wife, Lucinda, of Northumberland; son, Richard D. Remley Jr., and wife, Dorothy Hock, of Espy; son Walt R. Remley Sr., and Jan Moore of Beach Haven; son, Kevin M. Remley, and wife, Pat, of Berwick; daughter, Kay Switzer, and husband, Robert, of Berwick; daughter, Judy Culver, and husband, Ben, of Berwick. Other survivors include 18 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and the following siblings: Lillian Bittner, Berwick; Alice Kemmerer, Nescopeck; Annetta Bankus, Berwick; Dorothy Remley, Berwick; Anna Mary Eveland, Berwick; Ellen DiPasquale, Berwick; Terry Remley, Berwick; Kay Creveling, Berwick; and Sandy Knorr, Summerhill. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Arthur Remley. Friends will be received Thursday, April 13, from 1 until 3 and 7 until 9 p.m. at the Kelchner-McMichael Funeral Home Inc. of 119-121 E. Third St., Berwick. His funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home following a visitation hour that begins at 1 p.m. The Rev. Joseph F. Brady will officiate. Interment will be in Elan Memorial Park, Lime Ridge. END
