transcription of Newspapers->Deaths->3.62-2.jpg From a newspaper in January of 1995: BEGIN Isabelle Regina Loftus, 90 Mrs. Isabelle Regina Loftus passed away Friday, Jan. 13, 1995, in her 90th year at the Towanda Memorial Hospital, Towanda, Pa. Isabelle, the daughter of the late Patrick Francis and Theresa Isabelle Thayne Loftus, was born in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., on July 9, 1905. She graduated from Coughlin High School, Wilkes-Barre, Pa., and subsequently moved with her family to Bloomfield, N.J., where she was employed as a stenographer at the Prudential Insurance Company for 10 years. Isabelle married John Eugene Loftus (no relation) on Jan. 14, 1933. In 1943, Isabelle, John and their two daughters moved to Stowell, Pa., where they operated a small dairy farm. After several years they moved to a larger farm on Oak Hill, Bradford County. Isabelle continued to live on the family farm after the death of John in 1982. She was currently residing with her daughter, Joan, and family on Oak Hill. Isabelle's father was born in County Mayo, Ireland, and she was very proud of her Irish heritage. She traveled to Ireland on several occasions. Isabelle was an accomplished seamtress and an avid reader. She was very knowledgeable about books and authors. In her later years, she operated a mail order used book business and dealt with book dealers and collectors throughout the country. Isabelle was a member of St. Mary's of the Assumption Catholic Church in Wyalusing, Pa., and was an active member of the church and of St. Mary's Altar and Rosary Society. Isabelle is survived by: two daughters and sons-in-law: Joan and Richard Ross, Wyalusing, Pa., and Barbara and Charles Perrone, West Chester, Pa.; grandchildren and their spouses: Elizabeth Ann Ross, Seabrook, N.H., Roger and Barbara Ross Kropelnicki, Towanda, Michelle and R. James Ross, Canton, Larry and Julie Ross Chapman, Buckfield, Maine, Kathleen Ross, Seabrook, N.H., Karen Ross, Wyalusing, Lawrence and Susan Perrone Walthall, West Chester, Pa., Michael A. Perrone, West Chester, Christopher and Jenifer Perrone Eichman, Exton, Pa.; great-grandchildren: Christopher and Veronica Kropelnicki, Towanda, Nathaniel and Codie Ross, Canton, Samantha and Stephanie Walthall, West Chester, Alexander and Matthew Eichman, Exton; sisters: Mary Elizabeth O'Neill, Pembrooke Pines, Fla., Theresa Griffin, Matawah, Mich., and Helen Fanning, Escondido, Calif.; several neices and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Monday, Jan. 16, 1995, at 10:30 a.m. from the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 1 Grovedale Lane, Wyalusing, Pa., and followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, Wyalusing, with the Rev. Thomas J. McDermott officiating. Interment will be in St. Anthony's Cemetery, Stowell, Pa. The family will receive friends on Sunday, Jan. 15, 1995, at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 1 Grovedale Lane, Wyalusing, Pa., from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. There will be a Vigil Service at 8:30 p.m. on Sunday evening at the funeral home.
