Freeholders Say
'Happy Birthday'

  BELVIDERE--Elected officials in more prominent places than the Warren
County Courthouse do it, so the freeholders thought, "Why not?"
  They agreed Wednesday night to send a congratulatory birthday card to
Amza B. Linaberry of Blairstown, who will turn 100 years old tomorrow.
  Mrs. Lorna Cramer of Blairstown asked the freeholders to do so, adding
that she had sent similar requests to President Carter, Gov. Brendan Byrne
and Sen. Wayne Dumont Jr., R-Warren-Sussex.
  "It will make him happy," she wrote.

BEGIN

  Considered the worst fire in the town's history, the "Main Street Blaze"
of March 1, 1957, was the biggest fire our firefighters have ever had to
face.  It raged for more than eight hours and consumed four buildings -- The
Blairstown Inn, Marie's Luncheonette, and buildings owned by Amzi Linaberry
and Louise Weber.  A total of 10 fire companies were called to the scene.
