Lake, 78, of Holland Township, NJ, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2019, at the Hunterdon Care Center in Raritan Township, NJ. Born April 29, 1941, in Easton, PA, Edna lived in Hunterdon County, NJ, for most of her life before settling in Holland Township in 1987. She graduated from North Hunterdon High School. Edna worked as a corrections officer at the Edna Mahon Correctional Facility in Clinton, NJ, for 23 years. She was a previous member of the Cokesbury Church in Cokesbury, NJ. Edna enjoyed gardening, making crafts, and decorating gourds. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family. Daughter of Edward Harold Sweetman and Florence Lippincott, Edna is survived by her beloved husband of 32 years, Clifford Lake; her two sons, Alan Whiteley and his wife, Tonia, of Dayton, OH, and Timothy Whiteley and his wife, Amanda, of Ketchikan, AK; her daughter, Alison Whiteley of Oklahoma City, OK; her step-daughter, Lisa Kelly and her husband, Jim, of Ringoes, NJ, and her five grandchildren, Ashley, Hannah, Amanda, Owen, and Ursula. She was predeceased by her step-son, Jeffrey Lake. Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family.
