JAMES "FRED" GIBBS, Sr.7, was born 7 October 1910 and died October 1993 
in Rockford, Illinois. In 1920, he lived with his mother in Hope Township
and attended school. The census gives his name as "Fred J. Gibbs" (1920
United States Federal Census, Enumeration District 159, Hope Township, 
Warren County, New Jersey, sheet 1B, 3 January 1920). By 1930, Fred, his
mother, and his sister lived at 419 Greenwich Street in Belvidere. Fred was
employed as a dyer in a silk dying plant (1930 United States Federal Census,
Enumeration District 21-3, Town of Belvidere, Warren County, New Jersey,
sheet 13B, 15 April 1930). He married first, after 1930, Grace Bellis,
the daughter of Harry Bellis and Helen Mitsch. This marriage ended in
divorce. James married second, Hazel (Last name unknown) (Allen 2001).

Children by Grace Bellis:

       i.   Shirley Mae, she never married (Allen 2001).
