Sutton, 86, formerly of 314 Sixth St., (DePere, Wis.) died Monday morning at Theda Clark Hospital, Neenah, after a year's illness. For the past year he had made his home with a daughter, Mrs. Alvin Manteufel at Neenah. Mr. Sutton was born in Kilbourne, IL, Oct. 5, 1879. He was a graduate of Dixon College School of Mines at Dixon, IL., and served in the Naval Reserves as a metalurgist during World War I. He married the former Pearl Phillips Nov. 25, 1903, and the Suttons moved to DePere after their marriage. Mr. Sutton was owner and operator of DePere Metal Works until his retirement. Mrs. Sutton preceded him in death in 1944. Survivors are four daughters, Mrs. Alvena Koepke of Shiocton, Mrs. Alvin (Ethel) Manteufel of Neenah, Mrs. Walter (Velma) McCullough of Orleans, France, Mrs. Ben (Olive) McClellan of El Paso, Texas; four sons, James and Ernest of Milwaukee, Garold and John of Chicago; one brother, Scott Sutton of Peoria, IL; two sisters, Mrs. Clara Abbotts of Hobbs, N.M., and Mrs. Anna Craggs of Idaho Falls, Idaho; 38 grandchildren and 57 great-grandchildren. One son, Edwin, died at Pearl Harbor. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock this afternoon at the First Congregational Church. Rev. Robert Koller will officiate and burial will be in Lawrence Cemetery. Friends may call at Ryan Funeral Home until the time of services.
