    Ray George Mellott passed away Friday morning October 9, 1955 at 12:20
    a.m., at his home near Needmore, of a heart ailment, he had been in
    ill health for about ten weeks.

    He was born Feb. 18, 1898 near Sipes Mill, where he spent his entire
    life as a farmer, he was a son of the late William and Louetta Mellott
    and was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Brethren church, he served as
    a deacon for 27 years.

    He is survived by his wife Letitia Alice Mellott, two sons Boyd R.,
    of Warfordsburg, R. Gerald V. of Needmore, and one daughter Mary Wanda
    Lee at Chambersburg, also five grandchildren, two sisters Mrs. Dovie
    Hann of Warfordsburg, Mrs. Lena Weller of Newburg and one brother,
    Chester L. Mellott of Needmore.

    He was a kind devoted husband and father.

    Services were held on Sunday afternoon at 2.00 p.m. at the Pleasant Ridge
    church with the Rev. D. M. Vickers officiating, assisted by Rev. Floyd
    Truax. Interment was made in the cemetery adjoining the church
