I don't know what Lake family Sarah was from. This Jacob Godown was the son of Evans Godown. The best info I have comes from a GODOWN website at: http://www.uftree.com/UFT/WebPages/TheGodowns/DEFAULT/d0/i0000263.htm#i263 Jacob's sister, Elizabeth, was married to an Isaac Lake. From various probate records, I've been able to determine that Isaac was the son of a John and Anna Lake. From my notes on this John Lake: NAME: will of his son, Thomas. DEATH: could have been the John Lake of Amwell who died intestate 3 May 1809. Probate record 23673, Hunterdon Co., NJ, Lib B, LDS film 466550. Inventory made by Peter Prall and Jacob Fulper. One of the items in the inventory is a 1/2 interest in "the cattle in pardinship with Tho. Lake". Sworn to by Cornelius Lake and Henry Trimmer, Adm'rs, 3 May 1809. Cornelius Lake was also a witness to the will of Garret Lake. Relationship of Cornelius Lake to this family is unknown at this time. MARR: Anna _____. In the will of Thomas Lake of Amwell, wp 16 Jan 1811, he refers to himself as the "son of John Lake" and his "mother, Anna Lake, widow". CHILDREN: children of John Lake are presumed from will of Jane Lake, dau "of John Lake, deceased" (LDS film 463008, NJ Wills #3564. wd 27 Dec 1826, wp 13 Jun 1827) and will of Thomas Lake, "son of John Lake, deceased" (NJ Wills, #2478J, wd 6 Dec 1810, wp 16 Jan 1811). Children known from these wills are Thomas; Jane; Mary; Isaac; John. May have been others. Notes for Thomas Lake, son of John and Anna: DEATH: wd 6 Dec1810, wp 16 Jan 1811. Thomas Lake, son of John Lake, dec., of the Township of Amwell. Grants his slave, Jube, freedom by his paying compensation of 50 cents to estate; his mother Anna Lake, his sister Jane and Mary to divide estate after sale of moveable items; William Sergent, son of Mary his shares in the plantation where he lives and any part of it that Thomas would have inherited (presumably after decease of mother Anna); to Thomas Lake, son of brother Isaac, his undivided shares in the lot of land where John Lake "now lives". (Assume this John Lake to be his brother). Henry Trimmer named executor, wit. Jacob Fulper; John Hoppack, Jr.; Henry Rake. MARR: since there are no children or wife named as heirs in his will, it is presumed that he was single, unless a wife and children pre-deceased him. Notes for Isaac Lake, son of John and Anna: NAME: named as a brother of Thomas Lake of Amwell in his will dated 6 Dec 1810, wp 16 Jan 1811. MARR: assumed to be Elizabeth Godown from "PA Mag of Hist and Bio", v.XII, Rev. Wm Frazer's Three Parishese: St. Thomas'; St. Andrew's; Musconetcong, NJ".
