KINGWOOD BAPTIST CHURCH MARRIAGE RECORDS Hunterdon Co, NJ BEGIN 1802 137.John Lake and Anna Dilts, Nov. 23 1803 151.John Lerew and Mary Lake, Aug. 13 1804 166.Isaac Metchel and Anna Lake, May 9 1805 182.Abel Thatcher and Mary Lake, Jan. 10 END From: Nancy Heath BEGIN Date: Mon, 12 Apr 2021 21:32:32 -0400 I don't know much about John LAKE; I didn't even know his parents' names until now.  His wife Ann DILTS was the sister of my direct ancestor Sarah DILTS who married William MCMANNERS.  I researched Ann and all of her siblings trying to learn, among other things, the names of their parents.  I finally found them named in the death certificate of their youngest sibling, Charlotte Dilts WILLIAMSON; the parents were Jacob DILTS and Martha NAYLOR.  Jacob was the son of John DILTS and grandson of Peter DILTS, who immigrated in 1727, and who possibly was the brother of your Henry.  I also researched the children of John LAKE and Ann DILTS; my list has: * Thomas, b. c. 1805 * Mary, b. c. 1807 * Jacob, b. 10 June 1807, d. 18 January 1880 * Isaac, b. 1808, d. 15 October 1825, buried in Rake Cemetery * Jane, b.  12 October 1811, m. John FAUSS, d. 4 January 1890, buried at Sand Brook cemetery * Nancy, b. 1816, m. ------ SWEAZY, d. 1892 * Susan, b. 3 August 1818, m. John CLOSSON, d. 18 October 1883 * Azuba, m. ------ FOX, d. before 1878, leaving children Ensign DECATUR, John DECATUR, and Elizabeth REINER. It's interesting that four of these children - Mary, Jacob, Jane, and Susan - have names matching the names of four of Ann's siblings. Date: Wed, 14 Apr 2021 11:55:20 -0400 As for the children of John and Ann Dilts Lake, the five you list are those listed in a foreclosure complaint filed against the heirs of the siblings of Mary Dilts who died in 1844.  It also lists the heirs of Azuba Fox, who was deceased when this complaint was filed in 1879.  I may have already sent you my transcription of this complaint; if not, I'd be glad to send it if you are interested. The names of the additional children, Thomas, Mary, and Isaac, came from Marfy Goodspeed's "Lake Family Tree."  Further info on Isaac comes from her article, "Rake Cemetery, part two" published 25 May 2018.  It lists as one of the stones in the cemetery, Isaac Lake, son of John and Ann, Oct. 15, 1825.
